Taos Community Foundation, the Town of Taos, and Kit Carson Electric Cooperative held the first meeting of what would become the Enchanted Circle Community Organizations Active in Disaster (EC COAD). A year later, more than 30 local partner organizations have come together to address critical unmet needs like food, shelter, spiritual and mental health services, education, financial services, and local business needs EC COAD leaders have worked together to Launch the online volunteer hub, Taos Connects Launch the EC COAD website (eccoadorg) Lead a 3-week class to train community grant-writers. Develop the LOO1 by 10/01 NM Safe Certified campaign, helping Taos County lead the state in NM Safe Certifications for businesses Facitate emergency sheltering for those affected by COVID-19. Promote the regional "Mask Up" campaign Facitate the Community Garden Box Project, distributing over eighty garden boxes for families to grow their own food, Lead a bilingual campaign for COVID-19 vaccine registration. Secure 64,000 botties of hand-sanitizer and over S00,000 fabric masks - with ongoing regional distribution. Connect students and teachers with access to WIFI and broadband Secure and donate truckloads of fod to regional food pantries. Secure and donate blankets and other emergency SUpplies throughout Taos and Colfax counties. Recruit volunteers to staff COVID-19 Vaccination Sites. Increase access to critical community resources and information.
