COVID-19 RESPONSE GRANTS as of June 15, 2020 Dear friends in Community - We have crossed the halfway point in The Fund for Taos campaign, and have a total in hand of over $550,000! This effort has come from donations of every level, from 17 states in total and from 8th grade student groups to private and corporate foundations. The gifts continue to come in and the pathway ahead is now focused on our next phase of granting from this emergency action fund. Since our first week of emergency response, we have granting close to $250,000 into front-line and critical service support. Grants have supported our local food pantries, provided vouchers for emergency shelter overflow, assisted with counseling/grief support and technology support for local schools. In the coming weeks, The Foundation will launch our "second-phase" strategic framework, that will include a competitive application process for non-profit organizations. We will continue to assess the emergency needs of our community while simultaneously moving forward in what we see as deeper recovery work. There is an incredible opportunity for our community to take some bold steps as we work towards resiliency and Taos Community Foundation is poised to take a strong leadership role in some of this work. Thank you for partnering with us - for your continued financial support - and for joining us in the work that lies ahead.
