Taos SWCD Promotes Stewardship Week Taos, NM-Taos Soil & Water Conservation District, in partnership with the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), is celebrating the 67th Annual Stewardship Week from April 24-May 1. 2022. This year's Stewardship Week theme is "Healthy Soil, Healthy Life." "Our ability to produce and access quality food and water depends on the health of our nation's soils," said NACD President Michael Crowder. "This year's Stewardship Week represents the continued awareness and recognition of the importance of effective conservation practices to maintain access to our natural resources for future generations. During Stewardship Week, Taos SWCD will be visiting local elementary classrooms throughout the county to distribute Soil Stewardship Activity Packets and to offer soil health lessons and activities for teachers and students. This year's Stewardship Week resources celebrating "Healthy Soil, Healthy Life" are available for free download on the Taos SWCD website (www.swed.org).
