New Mexico's 47 soil and water conservatrion districts amplib the common voice of federal, state and local governments, tribes and over 10,000 farmers and ranchers, that are the stewards of over 77 million acres of forest, range, cropland, pasture and other lands in the state; and WHEREAS, since 1946, New Mexico's soil and water conservation districts have successfully execuled the staffing networking, funding policy. programs, influence, and governance to be the renowned resource and delivery system for achieving conservarion directly with landowners. NOW THEREFORE, I, Michelle Lajan Grisham, Governor of the State of New Mexico, do hereby proclaim November 9. 2021 as: "The 75th Anniversary of Conservation District Success" throughout the state of New Mexico.
