Kit Carson Electric Cooperative was notified that an individual who identified himself as Shawn called certain KCEC members from the phone number 575-758-2258 informing the member that a payment needed to be made on their account immediately. The caller left call back phone numbers 855-868-3925 and 855-208-5247. The caller would only accept express payments via purchasing a money pack (pre-paid card). They also stated that if they did not pay the amount; their electric service would be disconnected. Some follow up calls are coming in as the Kit Carson phone number (575-758-2258).
