El Noche THE NIGHT 1) The Lounge, craft distillery and lounge with creative cocktails. 2) Doc Mar- tin's Bar, pick your margarita wisely and then sit back to enjoy live music and people-watch- ing in the historic downtown patio. 3) The Alley Cantina, a local pub with daily live music. 4) Midtown Market, a historic cantina with billiards, karaoke & hearty sandos just off the beaten path. 5) El Monte Sagrado, mixology and tasty small bites at the Anaconda Bar. 6) Corner Office Natural Wine // Cafe, a plethora of natural wines and bites - I recommend the French Dip sandwich, and choosing a fun bottle from the wall. And, if the Land of Enchantment has you missing Asiatic & Pacific Cuisine...check out 1) Sushi A La Hattori, the freshest fish in the Rocky Mountains. 2) Sushi Siam, Thai cuisine next to the plaza. 3) Nana's & Papa's Filipino, a North Taos food truck packed with flavor & tastes of the Pacific. 5) Yu Garden & Hunan, for an authentic Chinese food fix. 4) Donabe, Asian fusion-Taos style. Tierra y Aventura LAND & ADVENTURE A great introduc- tion to the towns and villages of Northern New Mexico begins with a scenic drive around the Enchanted Circle. Along the way, be sure to hop off the main road for a stroll down an old PAGE SULLIVAN GROUP BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY Home Services Forest Road and a glimpse into our vast alpine forest system (taos.org). This time of year also means "Shred season" for world class skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing within our Al- pine winter wonderlands. For those seeking an adrenaline rush or to unwind in nature, find a guide to cross-country ski, snowmobile, flyfish the Rio grande, ice fish Eagles Nest Lake, or hunt in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (April & May is Spring Turkey season). Taos also offers world class rock climbing year-round; Mountain Skills rock guides (dimbtaos.com) will show you the ropes, and they also offer back country ski and snowshoe tours. During the Spring months take a moment to observe and appreciate our lifeblood: water from the snowmelt rushing down our mountains through our ancient water ways known as acequias (taosacequias.org). Acequias and indigenous systems of water management have sustained agriculture in our valley for many generations. Then, finish off the day with a dip in a local Hot Spring at Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa. Las Montañas THE MOUNTAINS One of the region's most notable treasures are our four ski and snowboard resorts nestled in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Taos Ski Valley (TSV), Red River Ski and Summer Area, Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort, and Angel Fire Resort all have different experiences to offer, but they share one thing in common: world class skiing for all experience levels. The largest of the four resorts, Taos Ski Valley, has deep roots dating back to 1954 when Ernie and Rhoda Blake Taos Real Estate Angel Fire Real Estate #1 Team in Taos & Angel Fire TOP NEW BROKER 2020 Photo Angelo Michell 20 founded the resort. While visiting TSV, I highly recommend visiting some of the locally owned businesses for shopping and to satisfy your appetite. The independently owned Alpine Village Suites, located just above Cottam's Ski Shop and the Boot Doctor, is a great alternative for accommodations. Some of my favorite places for eating and drinking are Der Gartten, Hondo Restaurant at the Snakedance, and The Bavarian Restaurant for an authentic German apres experience. Another great option is to have your own picnic out by a bonfire-you can find everything you need at Cid's Market and Bumps Market, including deliciouss grab & go options. Between runs, grab a warm bev erage at Black Diamond Espresso, then head over to Confluence to discover a variety of local artisan goods. There is so much more to see, do, and experi- ence in our beautiful home of Northern New Mexico...but no good local can give away all of their secrets in one go.
