Seeking Interested Community Members for Toun Advisory Boards, Commissions and Committees 1934 The Town of Taos has several openings on various advisory commissions, boards and committees and is seeking interested residents or business owners or managers to fill these important positions that review various proposals, budgets, contractors or applications and recommend to the Mayor and Council on various issues. The current openings are as follows: Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) Meets at least monthly on the first Wednesday evening of the month at 600 pm, and as needed, to review and recommend on code changes, long range plans and applications for development throughout the Town. A professional or educational background in archisecture, engincering. planning, construction, land use law, real estate or another relevant field and being a Town sesident is peeferable. Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) Mects at least monthly on the second Wedneoday evening of the month at 5:30 pm, and as needed, to review architectural design and other considerations for new construction, renovation, architecnural design standands, murals, lighting, signage and demolition within the Town's designated Hiszoric Districts, A professional or educational background in architecture, historic preservation, downtown or neighborhood planning, historic or arts districts, commercial design, or another related field and being a resident, business or property owner within the Townis designated Historic District is preferable. Finance Committee and Public Policy (FC) Meets at least quarterly and as needed on Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm on the third Thursday of the month, immediarely following the Town Audit Committee to review and make recommendations on the Townis annual budget, revenue projections, tax and rate structure, bonding, investment portfolio, debt structure, infrastructure financing, real estate disposal and acquisition, debt struCture and the financial viability of applications to the Town for Town participation in cconomic devekopment and affoedable housing projects. The Committe is also provided with oversight of annual audits, economic projections and monthly reports of the Town's Finance Departmment, and serves as financial advisors to the Town for municipal financial planning, conomic and taxation policies, and business and jobs development strategies. Prospective members should have a background in accounting, investment, municipal or corporate finance, business or cconomic development, banking, real estate development, taxation or urility rate seting, public policy or other relevant areas.
