Town of Taos residents, visitors, and all employers and employees doing business within the Town of Taos. How long will it be in effect? 30 days, but will be reviewed every week by Town Council as the situation changes. What does this mean for the public? Mask mandate indoors and at all gatherings indoors and outdoors for anyone over the age of 5. Social distancing indoors and outdoors and at all gatherings. No business or premises shall exceed the allowable building code or fire code maximum capacity limits. All events will need to implement a public health and safety plan to be approved by the Town, to include, at a minimum, masking, social distancing and occupancy limits in order to move forward with the event. Why are we doing this? As a preventive measure to contain the more contagious COVID variants as cases are rising statewide, nationaily and globally. How will this be enforced? Violations of the Public Health ration are considered a misdemeanor offense that may result in a warning, fine of not more than $300 per person per incident, and/or not more than 30 days in jail.
