Taos M usic from theMo unta in We're making plans for a season that fulfils our mission to engage, inspire, educate and share our humanity through chamber music; we'll return to our roots and broaden our performance venues. In addition to Taos venues, we plan musical offerings in venues throughout the Enchanted Circle Our plans for the 2018-2019 include: Partnership with Taos Municipal Schools Artists in the Schools Program and Taos Youth Ballet in an updated, Tri-cultural, Tri-lingual production of "Memorias de Mi Abuelita" This project involves classroom time with students at Arroyos del Norte Elementary throughout the school year and concludes with a performance at the TCA in May Christmas Eve Holiday Concert performances at Taos Living Center, Taos Retirement Village and Holy Cross Hospital Schubertiade House Concert: an intimate house concert featuring chamber music of Schubert and his contemporaries with Soundscapes Musicologist and Pianist Claire Detels, stellar local vocalists Julia Armstrong, Elizabeth Calvert, Mark Jackson,Violinist Ellen Chavez de Leitner and pianist Kim Bakkum. Saturday, January 26,2019, 2 p.m. at the home of Bob and Suzanne Brock. March, 2019 we'll participate in Women's History Month with another Great Women Composers' Concert hosted by Soundscapes Musicologist and Pianist Claire Detels. Italiar Baroque composer Barbara Strozzi (1619-1677) will be the featured composer for her 400th Birthday Anniversary year: solos and duets, works with Baroque Guitar, Viola de Gamba, and more! May 18 and 19,2019: Join us at RC Gorman's original Taos home and gallery for "A Celebration of 60 Years of Violinmaking" will celebrate the gorgeous concept of sound conceived and created by local violinmaker David Carón and enjoyed by audiences around the world. Program will include Ralph Vaughan Williams' Phantasy Quintet, Frank Bridges' Lament for Two Violas and Mendelssohn's Quintet for Strings No. 2 in B-flat major, Opus 87 In late June, or Early July: Crooked Creek Concert Series Performance: Classical String Quartet repertoire and selections for tenor and string quartet with special guest Ryan Alais, Tenor.
