About

The common recurring theme in Rosemary Ryan’s work is the artist’s fascination with natural patterns found in nature and the relationship between energy and an object’s placement in space. Known for her pattern-infused pastel work, reminiscent of Post-Impressionistic paintings, Ryan’s subjects range from adobe huts on local roads to large-scale images of national monuments to beautiful mountain vistas. Ryan began her art career in Taos during the spring of 2000 and won a Merit Award for American Women in the Arts a few years later. Interested in pursuing her passion for color and contemporary style, Ryan continues to convey a sense of joy and energy in her work.
